Top open. Half of the magnifying optics are visible at the top. The input connections are defined just above the 1/8" stereo plug. +5 Volts, Ground reference, 1v p-p composite video source. For a Canon camera with sound and video a stereo plug is required. The stereo plug is defined as, Shield to ground, Ring to Composite Video, Tip to Audio (tip is not connected in the application).
